St. David's HealthCare Announces New Marketing and Communications Director For St. David's Medical Center

AUSTIN, Texas—St. David’s HealthCare announced today that Damon Arhos will serve as the new marketing and communications director for St. David’s Medical Center. With more than 15 years of experience, Arhos will be responsible for overseeing marketing and communications initiatives and community outreach efforts for St. David’s Medical Center.

St. David’s Medical Center is a 350-bed acute care hospital that includes Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David’s Medical Center, NeuroTexas Institute at St. David’s HealthCare, The Breast Center at St. David’s Medical Center and St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital—a 64-bed rehabilitation hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care.

Prior to joining St. David’s HealthCare, Arhos managed internal and executive communications and community relations at Freescale Semiconductor in Austin. He also provided communications counsel and collaborative support to the company’s senior leadership team, and designed and executed corporate communications programs reaching employees worldwide.

Previously, Arhos directed administration of product marketing initiatives, and later, international marketing communications, for National Instruments in Austin. He also served as an independent marketing communications and media relations consultant; a senior editor for Hoover’s, one of the world's leading suppliers of business information, services and research; and a managing editor of The Vail Trail Newspaper in Vail, Colorado.

Arhos currently serves as the chair of Art City Austin, the annual Art Alliance Austin festival that raises funds on behalf of the Austin Museum of Art and The Jack S. Blanton Museum. He is a former member of the board of the Charles Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum, and a graduate of Leadership Austin’s Essential Program.

Arhos earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Texas A&M University in College Station. He went on to pursue a master’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in journalism from The University of Texas at Austin, where he was chosen to study abroad at the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration.
