St. David's Round Rock Medical Center Receives Economic Impact Award for Williamson County

ROUND ROCK, Texas—St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center was recently awarded the Economic Impact Award at the Williamson County Growth Summit. The award recognizes St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center’s contribution and ongoing growth and support of Williamson County.

“The exceptional leadership of our board members, growth of the medical staff and continuous dedication of our employees, have allowed us to have a significant, positive impact here in Williamson County. We are proud to be honored for the collective and sustained commitment of these individuals to the health care needs of our community,“ Deborah Ryle, chief executive officer at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, said. “We look forward to growing our services and presence in Williamson County as the area continues to grow in the years ahead.”

Part of the impact St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center has had related to the health care industry includes employment growth and number of patients treated. St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center employs 739 people, which is an increase of 88 employees since 2005. In 2011 alone, the hospital is projected to treat nearly 75,000 patients, which includes patients from the hospital’s emergency department (ED)—the largest volume ED in all of Williamson County.

In addition to the health care contributions St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center makes to the community, the hospital has made nearly $1 million in charitable contributions to local community organizations, including the CHASCO Family YMCA. This year alone, St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center has contributed $182,000 to local organizations.

The Williamson County Growth Summit is an annual event hosted by the Austin Business Journal.
