St. David's Women's Center of Texas Named Best Hospital for Maternity Care

AUSTIN—St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas, located at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, recently won the Best Hospital Maternity Care Award by the Austin Birth Awards committee. St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas was recognized for providing outstanding care in maternity services.

The award, which is part of the 2011 Austin Mother-Friendly Birth Awards, was presented to each department in maternity services at the women’s center, including labor and delivery, mother baby, nursery and the neonatal intensive care unit. More than 4,000 Austinites voted for the best birth professionals this year.

“We are honored to be named the best hospital for maternity care, especially since it is voted on by residents in the area,” Yvette McDonald, director of neonatal and lactation services at St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas, said. “St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas prides itself on being all things for all women, including a great destination for maternity care. We’re pleased to have our staff and physicians’ care recognized.”

The Austin Birth Awards are awarded through Get Babied!, the first on-call doula collective in Austin that provides expecting parents with the services they can count on during their childbearing years.
