Family Centered Cesarean Birth is a class designed for parents who are planning a cesarean birth. We will discusss signs of labor, when to call your doctor, what to expect during the pre-op period, and what happens in the delivery room step by step. We focus on making this a gentle, family ecntered experience, and how to minimize discomforts during the surgery and recovery periods. Support people will learn their role during the birth and beyond. We also discuss postpartum in the hospital and at at home, and how to make this as smooth and easy as possible. A tour of the Women's Services Floor is included in the class. Pre-registration is required and is taken on a first registration and payment basis (space is limited).
