Thank you for your interest in volunteering at St. David’s Medical Center! Several hundred volunteers currently serve our healthcare community. We are excited that you are interested in joining our team. The mission of the Volunteer Services Department is to recruit, train, and retain compassionate volunteers who help to provide exceptional support and services to our patients, visitors, and staff. Volunteering at St. David’s is a rewarding experience, and our goal is to make this the most meaningful “work” you have ever done. Together, we will determine the best volunteer position for your motivations, strengths and talents.
We have three different volunteer programs: Community, Student and Teen. While each program is unique, we all work together and towards the same mission: to provide exceptional support and services to those we serve. Please click on the links below to learn more about each program.
Community Volunteer Program (Learn more)
This is our foundation group and is comprised of members throughout the community who are committed to serving our patients, visitors and staff. The St. David’s Medical Center Healthcare Volunteers, formerly the Auxiliary to St. David’s Medical Center, have been supporting the hospital and Austin community since 1955. Applications are accepted year round and we have both traditional and non-traditional opportunities available.
The St. David’s Medical Center Healthcare Volunteers own and operate the Atrium Gift Shop. For more information on the gift shop click here.
Annually, the St. David’s Medical Center Healthcare Volunteers award scholarships to students pursuing healthcare related fields. For the 2013-2014 school year, they awarded $100,000 to 20 students attending Texas universities.
