St. David’s Georgetown Hospital

Hugh Brown has served as Chief Executive Officer of St. David's Georgetown Hospital since February 2007. Mr. Brown is currently a member of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce board and the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts in Georgetown. He is also a member of Main Street Baptists Church in Georgetown where he teaches a weekly adult Bible study.

Mr. Brown came to St. David's Georgetown Hospital from Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He joined Grand Strand Regional in 1992, where he held numerous leadership positions including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Development Officer.

Mr. Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill under a U.S. Navy ROTC scholarship. He went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration from Winthrop University. After college, Mr. Brown served as a U.S. Navy supply officer on a fast-attack nuclear-powered submarine and earned a Navy Achievement Medal and an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Michelle Hays is chief financial officer of both St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital. Prior to assuming this role, Hays served for seven years as chief financial officer of Heart Hospital of Austin, during which time she helped lead the hospital through the acquisition by St. David’s HealthCare.

Hays has more than 20 years of combined hospital financial management and public accounting experience. Prior to joining Heart Hospital of Austin, she served as chief financial officer for Louisiana Heart Hospital and also as a regional chief financial officer for a long-term acute care hospital company in the Shreveport and Austin markets. Before entering the healthcare industry, Hays spent five years in public accounting as an auditor.

Hays is actively involved with the American Heart Association. She is a member of the Circle of Red and has served for several years on the executive leadership team for the Heart Ball.

Michael Lopez

Chief ​Nursing Officer

St. David’s Georgetown Hospital

Michael Lopez was appointed chief nursing officer of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital in July 2015. Before joining St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, Lopez served as the associate chief nursing officer at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center for two years, with oversight of numerous operations across various nursing departments. During this time, Lopez led multiple clinical performance improvement initiatives, as well as served as the executive champion for the implementation strategies in nursing to achieve the highest patient satisfaction scores in five years.

Prior to his role with St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, Lopez worked at Questcare Partners Medical Management in Dallas, Texas, as vice president of operations for emergency services in El Paso and San Antonio.

Previously, he held a variety of roles at Las Colinas Medical Center in Irving; Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas; RHD Memorial Medical Center in Dallas; and at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Corpus Christi. In 2011, “The Great 100 Nurses of Dallas Fort Worth” named Lopez as a Great 100 Nurse.

Lopez obtained his bachelor’s degree in nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington, and he earned his Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in healthcare from Texas Woman’s University.

Lopez has been a member of numerous professional organizations, including a member of The American Heart Association in Dallas. In addition, he is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives, Emergency Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Nurses, Texas Organization of Nurse Executives (TONE), Central Texas Chapter of TONE and an alumnus of the North Texas Emerging Leaders Program.
