April 14, 2025

Austin, Texas — St. David’s HealthCare announced today that all of its hospitals were recently named among the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® according to an independent quality analysis provided by Premier, Inc.

St. David’s Medical Center, including Heart Hospital of Austin and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital; St. David’s South Austin Medical Center; and, St. David’s North Austin Medical Center ranked among the top 20 large community hospitals. St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center ranked among the top 20 medium community hospitals. Researchers evaluated 2,599 short-term, acute care, non-federal U.S. hospitals and health systems to identify the 100 Top Hospitals® in 2025.

“We are incredibly proud that all of our hospitals have been recognized among the top community hospitals in the nation,” David Huffstutler, president and chief executive officer of St. David's HealthCare, said. “This achievement reflects the unwavering commitment of our entire team — from physicians to nurses to support staff — who work tirelessly to deliver high-quality, compassionate care every day. Earning this recognition across all our facilities reinforces the standard of excellence we strive to maintain for the communities we serve.”

This is the 16th consecutive year for St. David’s Medical Center, including Heart Hospital of Austin and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, to be recognized as one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals. It is the seventh year for St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, and the third year for both St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center and St. David’s South Austin Medical Center. The St. David’s Medical Center consolidated entity was also recognized among 17 facilities nationwide to receive the 100 Top Hospitals Everest Award for achieving the most significant long-term growth over five years.

To create the list, an objective, quantitative analysis of publicly available data was conducted to identify the top hospitals in the United States. The primary purpose of Premier’s 100 Top Hospitals® program is to inspire hospital and health system leaders to pursue higher performance and deliver added value to patients and communities. The program leverages transparent, unbiased data to help inform strategies for sustained performance. Organizations do not apply to participate in the study, and award recipients do not pay to market their honor.
