JW Newman
Chief Executive Officer
St. David’s Round Rock Medical CenterJW Newman was named chief executive officer of St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center in August 2024.
Newman recently served as chief operating officer at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. During his time at TriStar Centennial Medical Center, he was responsible for the daily operations and business development of the 741-bed facility. As part of his role, Newman developed a $125-million capital project to support the growth of the hospital, improved patient and staff satisfaction, led efforts to expand cardiac and surgical services, and helped secure a new freestanding emergency room. Additionally, Newman provided oversight for a variety of service lines, including surgical, radiology/imaging, cardiovascular, endoscopy, laboratory, patient transport, respiratory therapy, rehab and wound care. Prior to his role at TriStar Centennial Medical Center, Newman served as the COO of Medical City Fort Worth.
Newman received his master of science in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio and a bachelor of business administration in managerial finance from the University of Mississippi.
Amanda McCann
Chief Financial Officer
St. David’s Round Rock Medical CenterAmanda McCann was named chief financial officer of St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center in September 2025.
McCann previously served as chief financial officer at Heart Hospital of Austin since June 2023. In that role, she provided oversight of financial reporting and $20 million in capital improvement investments, including multiple clinical equipment and facility improvements. Prior to that, she was the assistant chief financial officer at St. David’s Medical Center and also served as the director of finance for HCA Healthcare’s Central and West Texas Division.
McCann received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Texas Christian University.
Mihaela Bujoi, MD
Chief Medical Officer
St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center
Dr. Mihaela Bujoi was named chief medical officer of St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center in March 2025.
Dr. Bujoi previously served as assistant chief medical officer at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. During her time at Methodist Hospital, a 1,100-bed facility serving South Texas, Dr. Bujoi played a key role in enhancing a broad spectrum of services, including complex cardiac and pulmonary services, ECMO, oncology and stem cell transplantation for adult and pediatric patients. She also established a governance structure for critical care service lines to improve quality and efficiency, streamlined patient throughput processes, and enhanced physician engagement.
Before joining Methodist Hospital, Dr. Bujoi spent six years with Presbyterian Health System in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she held several medical director roles, including clinical transformation, cardiology and quality for the cardiovascular service line. She also served as president of the New Mexico Medical Society from 2022 to 2023.
Dr. Bujoi earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” in Bucharest, Romania, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Lauren French
Chief Operating Officer
St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center
Lauren French was named chief operating officer of St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center in July 2025.
French recently served as vice president of operations at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, a 590-bed, three-campus medical center that is part of HCA Healthcare’s Midwest Health. In this role, she was responsible for cardiovascular services, inpatient rehabilitation, acute therapy services, plant operations, security, laboratory services, environmental services, food and nutrition services and pastoral care. Under her leadership, the facility received a Comprehensive Cardiac Center designation from The Joint Commission, the first within HCA Healthcare. She also helped secure funding for more than $35 million in capital projects, including a freestanding emergency center; relaunched an ECMO program; championed a Pulmonary Embolism Response Team that has become the busiest in Kansas City; and served as Research Medical Center's ethics and compliance officer.
Prior to joining Research Medical Center, French served as an assistant administrator for Methodist Hospital Stone Oak in San Antonio, a 284-bed facility. She was responsible for the daily management and development of laboratory services, environmental services, food and nutrition services, parking services and outpatient testing and treatment.
French received a Master of Science in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio and a Bachelor of Science in public health from Baylor University.
Michael Lopez
Chief Nursing Officer
St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center
Michael Lopez is a healthcare executive with more than 25 years of healthcare experience and a proven track record of operational, clinical, and leadership excellence. Since joining HCA Healthcare in 2013, he has served in a variety of nursing and executive leadership roles across the organization.
Most recently, Lopez served as Chief Nursing Officer at Medical City Dallas. Prior to that role, he served as Chief Nursing Officer at St. David's South Austin Medical Center, where he led improvements in patient experience, physician and nurse engagement, emergency department operations, and inpatient throughput. He also served as Chief Nursing Officer at Heart Hospital of Austin, where he successfully led the launch of the hospital's Mechanical Circulatory Support Program (LVAD/ECMO), achieving DNV-GL Healthcare accreditation in 2020. Under his leadership, the hospital earned the 2020 Guardian of Excellence Award for Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores above the 95th percentile for both inpatient and emergency care.
Earlier in his career with St. David's HealthCare, Lopez served as Chief Nursing Officer at St. David's Georgetown Hospital and participated in HCA Healthcare's Executive Development Program as Associate Chief Nursing Officer at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. He has also held nursing leadership positions at Heart Hospital of Austin and St. David's Georgetown Hospital.
Lopez began his healthcare career as an Emergency Department Lead Patient Care Technician in Corpus Christi before transitioning into nursing at Medical City Las Colinas. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Business Administration with a healthcare emphasis from Texas Woman's University. He is a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), completed HCA Healthcare's Executive Development Program, and graduated from HCA Healthcare's Chief Leadership Program in 2025.
