Round Rock, Texas — St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center has named Lauren French as the facility’s new chief operating officer. French assumed her new role on July 14.

“Lauren’s extensive operational experience, combined with a proven track record of clinical and strategic leadership, will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow and advance high-quality care in the Williamson County community,” JW Newman, chief executive officer of St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, said. “We are pleased to welcome her to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center.”

French recently served as vice president of operations at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, a 590-bed, three-campus medical center that is part of HCA Healthcare’s Midwest Health. HCA Healthcare is St. David's HealthCare's national hospital operating partner. In this role, she was responsible for cardiovascular services, inpatient rehabilitation, acute therapy services, plant operations, security, laboratory services, environmental services, food and nutrition services and pastoral care. Under her leadership, the facility received a Comprehensive Cardiac Center designation from The Joint Commission, the first within HCA Healthcare. She also helped secure funding for more than $35 million in capital projects, including a freestanding emergency center; relaunched an ECMO program; championed a Pulmonary Embolism Response Team that has become the busiest in Kansas City; and served as Research Medical Center's ethics and compliance officer.

Prior to joining Research Medical Center, French served as an assistant administrator for Methodist Hospital Stone Oak in San Antonio, a 284-bed facility. She was responsible for the daily management and development of laboratory services, environmental services, food and nutrition services, parking services and outpatient testing and treatment.

French received a Master of Science in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio and a Bachelor of Science in public health from Baylor University.
