Austin, Texas — On Nov. 8, NMDP honored several recipients with its prestigious The ONE Forum® Access award, including Aravind Ramakrishnan, M.D., medical director of the Sarah Cannon Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center. The Access Award recognizes an individual or group whose work has increased access to cell therapies and, through this effort, elevated access for all patients to transplant. Through its partnership with NMDP’s Pathways to Transplant program, the Sarah Cannon Cellular Therapy Program helps ensure access for under-served patient populations.

“I’m deeply honored to be recognized by NMDP alongside so many leaders working to expand access to transplant and cellular therapies,” Dr. Ramakrishnan said. “This award is a reflection of the remarkable work happening every day at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, where we collaborate closely with Texas Oncology to deliver advanced, patient-centered care. Together, our multidisciplinary team ensures that patients can access innovative, life-saving treatments without having to leave their community. We’re proud to offer hope and healing through exceptional care right here in Austin.”

The ONE Forum awards, presented annually by NMDP, recognize individuals and organizations who are driving innovation and access in the field of hematopoietic cell transplantation and cell therapy. Honorees are selected for their efforts to eliminate barriers to care, promote health equity and expand the reach of these life-saving therapies to historically underserved populations. The awards highlight the importance of collaboration, research and compassionate care in advancing the field and improving outcomes for patients facing blood cancers and other critical illnesses.
