St. David's HealthCare acquires six Austin Emergency Centers

Austin, Texas — St. David’s HealthCare announced today it acquired six Austin Emergency Center locations, increasing its footprint to 13 freestanding emergency centers in Central Texas. All six new locations began operating as St. David’s Emergency Center on February 1, 2026, which are under the leadership of, and clinically integrated with, certain hospitals within St. David’s HealthCare. These freestanding facilities were acquired from ZT Corporate, a company that owned and operated the locations under its Altus Community Healthcare portfolio. Each is a fully functioning emergency department and offers the same capabilities as extensions of St. David’s hospital emergency rooms.

“As our population grows, local emergency rooms continue to see high patient volumes,” David Huffstutler, president and CEO of St. David’s HealthCare, said. “These acquisitions are strategically designed to ease pressure on large medical centers and expand access to high-quality emergency care closer to home for Central Texans.”

Each St. David’s Emergency Center is staffed by board-certified physicians affiliated with St. David’s HealthCare and nurses trained in emergency care. The emergency medical team can treat a range of conditions including abdominal pain, chest pain, dehydration, difficulty breathing, fractures and sprains, severe burns, stroke symptoms and traumatic injuries. Patients requiring inpatient admission or specialized services will experience seamless coordination of care with affiliated St. David’s HealthCare hospitals.

St. David’s Emergency Center — Anderson Mill

St. David’s Emergency Center — Anderson Mill features six exam rooms and advanced testing capabilities, including radiological testing and a medical lab. It is located at 13435 Hwy 183 N, #311, in Austin and operates as a department and extension of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.

St. David’s Emergency Center — Arboretum

St. David’s Emergency Center — Arboretum features seven exam rooms and advanced testing capabilities, including radiological testing and a medical lab. It is located at 10407 Jollyville Rd. in Austin and operates as a department and extension of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.

St. David’s Emergency Center — Wells Branch

St. David’s Emergency Center — Wells Branch features six exam rooms and advanced testing capabilities, including radiological testing and a medical lab. It is located at 15100 FM 1825 in Pflugerville and operates as a department and extension of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.

St. David’s Emergency Center — East Riverside

St. David’s Emergency Center — East Riverside features nine exam rooms and advanced testing capabilities, including radiological testing and a medical lab. It is located at 2020 E Riverside Dr. in Austin and operates as a department and extension of St. David’s Medical Center.

St. David’s Emergency Center — South Lamar

St. David’s Emergency Center — South Lamar features 10 exam rooms, one triage room and advanced testing capabilities, including radiological testing and a medical lab. It is located at 4015 S Lamar Blvd. in Austin and operates as a department and extension of St. David’s South Austin Medical Center.

St. David’s Emergency Center — Mueller

St. David’s Emergency Center — Mueller features 10 exam rooms, two triage rooms and advanced testing capabilities, including radiological testing and a medical lab. It is located at 1801 E 51st St., Building H, in Austin and operates as a department and extension of St. David’s Medical Center.
