St. David's HealthCare announces new vice president of graduate medical education
Austin, Texas — St. David’s HealthCare has named Cynthia Muñiz, MBA, C-TAGME as vice president of graduate medical education for St. David’s HealthCare and HCA Healthcare’s Central and West Texas Division. HCA Healthcare is St. David's HealthCare's national hospital operating partner. Muñiz assumed her new role in September.
Muñiz brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience with expertise in organizational change management, corporate development and contracting. She has a strong record of guiding strategic initiatives and operational improvements that strengthen physician and executive relationships.

Most recently, Muñiz served as assistant vice president of graduate medical education for HCA Healthcare’s East Florida Division, where she led more than 40 residency and fellowship programs and 700 physician trainees across nine teaching hospitals. She also oversaw nearly 3,000 annual medical and allied health student rotations. Her focus on program development, educational quality, and faculty and trainee engagement helped foster a positive, high-performing culture. During her tenure with the organization, Muñiz has championed initiatives that advance quality, equity and innovation. Her leadership has led to measurable gains in program outcomes, satisfaction, engagement and colleague development.
Muñiz holds an MBA in healthcare management from the University of Phoenix and a graduate medical education leadership development certificate from the Association of American Medical Colleges.
