Two emergency centers in Central Texas acquired by St. David's HealthCare
Austin, Texas — St. David’s HealthCare announced today that it has acquired two SignatureCare emergency centers — one in Southwest Austin and one in Hutto. Both locations began operating as a St. David’s Emergency Center on May 1.
“As we continue to expand our facility footprint throughout Central Texas, people are looking for convenient emergency care closer to home,” David Huffstutler, president and chief executive officer of St. David’s HealthCare, said. “By bringing these emergency centers into our system, we’re expanding access to a higher level of care for life-threatening conditions — when and where people need it most.”
Each St. David’s Emergency Center is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians affiliated with St. David’s HealthCare and nurses trained in emergency care.
The emergency medical team can treat a range of conditions including abdominal pain, chest pain, dehydration, difficulty breathing, fractures and sprains, severe burns, stroke symptoms and traumatic injuries. Patients requiring inpatient care will be transported from the freestanding emergency center to affiliated St. David’s HealthCare hospitals.
