Heart Hospital of Austin, part of St. David’s HealthCare, is a 72-bed hospital and one of the highest performing cardiovascular facilities in the nation, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. It features a comprehensive 24-hour emergency department; an advanced Executive Wellness Program; an Advanced Heart Failure Program, including two key therapies—extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and left ventricular assist device (LVAD); six operating rooms (ORs), including three hybrid ORs; three catheterization labs; and electrophysiology services.

Heart Hospital of Austin is a 13-year recipient of the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals award by Premier, Inc. (formerly Merative). The hospital has also been ranked by Healthgrades as the No. 1 cardiac program in Texas for seven consecutive years, and it is home to one of the largest non-academic cardiovascular research programs in the world.

Because we are licensed as one hospital – St. David’s Medical Center, once you are approved for privileges, your affiliation includes all three of our campus locations and ambulatory sites.

IMPORTANT: For management of your credentialing and privileging, we encourage you to choose the campus that you plan to primarily practice at as your primary facility. This will help us manage your credentialing application appropriate to the facility that you will most likely practice at most.
